We made it to Alaska

Day 7…

Saturday April 27 2024

White Horse - Tok. 390 miles

Packed up, finished laundry and headed

got around 8:00, went and had breakfast at a places called burnt toast, got a salmon and egg bowl, was amazing, the salmon tasted great too.. went and got coffee at the coffee shop called baked, I got a chia, it was okay..

Headed out towards Lake Kathleen, drove about 2 hours, the mountains and scenery were once again just absolutely stunning.. stopped at a few places here and there to see the sights, seen another bear!

I'm ready to be in Alaska now, the roads are kinda rough, especially after Destruction Bay, but I am ready to start setting in and do life in Alaska. This  week has been wild. I miss people from back home and work tho, I’ve definitely thought about it already!

I hope that I will never forget these moments of this trip and this opportunity and also the mountains..

We made it to the ALASKA BORDER around 5:00, ahhhh I can’t believe we’re actually here!!! Of course took many photos at the sign! Got through customs no problem..

Headed to the town of tok, stopped at Soho Thai takeaway and there was like an hour wait for the food so we went through town and found these cabins ‘fox ‘n fireweed’, was so cute, booked the place for the night settled in and then went back to pick up our food, took it back to the cabin, ate some of it, the food was amazing.. 

The roads here all have these interesting names like sundog, midnight sun.

Tom and Jerry hehe, l think I am falling in love with Alaska already, I don’t think it sunk in yet that I’m actually in Alaska, it’s still kinda a blur.. I think we have a little chipmunk buddy in our wall. 🤩

Day 8..

Sunday April 28 2024 

Tok - Fairbanks (302 miles)

Woke up @8, ugh our cabin is so cuteeee. Ate the rest of the breakfast we had, then headed out, got food and water and headed towards Fairbanks,, the mountains were still all so pretty,  headed to Castner Glacier Ice cave, hiked back like 30 min, it was pretty but it had alot of falling rocks and water, and so we couldn’t go inside due to the water and rocks, was still cool hiking in the snow, got back to the car and ate leftovers and headed towards fairbanks, stopped and got coffee at this cute coffee shack called sonrise, was pretty decent! Headed to our airbnb, we put a puzzle together which was so relaxing..Went and visited some friends who are missionaries in the north pole and basically help get supplies and food to missionaries and pastors in all the small villages, was inspiring to hear their story and their heart for the kingdom..

Monday April 30th, 2024

Hannah and Kath went home today.. cleaned the car and packed up for the week, got my oil changed and worked on some editing..
